Landesamt für Schule is responsible for evaluating foreign vocational qualifications in certain areas. These are professions that are taught in Bavaria at different types of vocational schools: Berufsfachschule, Fachschule or Fachakademie.
Social Pedagogical and Social Care Professions
Our office is responsible for the following social pedagogical and social care professions:
- staatlich anerkannte/-r Erzieher/-in (Bachelor Professional in Sozialwesen)
- staatlich anerkannte/-r Heilerziehungspfleger/-in (Bachelor Professional in Sozialwesen)
- staatlich anerkannte/-r Heilerziehungspflegehelfer/-in
- staatlich anerkannte/-r Heilpädagoge/Heilpädagogin (Bachelor Professional in Sozialwesen)
- staatlich anerkannte/-r Familienpfleger/-in (Bachelor Professional in Sozialwesen)
- staatlich geprüfte/-r Kinderpfleger/-in
- staatlich geprüfte/-r Sozialbetreuer/-in

For recognition as a registered nurse or nursing assistant in Bavaria, you can contact the Bavarian State Office for Nursing Bayerische Landesamt für Pflege. This office is also responsible for the recognition of other health professions such as paramedics or physiotherapists.
Commercial-technical and business professions
Our office is also responsible for certain commercial-technical and business professions, for example:
- staatlich geprüfte/-r Assistent/-in für Innenarchitektur
- staatlich geprüfte/-r Chemisch-technische/-r Assistent/-in
- staatlich geprüfte/-r Bautechniker/-in
- staatlich geprüfte/-r Elektrotechniker/-in
- staatlich geprüfte/-r Fremdsprachenkorrespondent/-in
- staatlich geprüfte/-r Lebensmittelverarbeitungstechniker/-in
- staatlich geprüfte/-r Maschinenbautechniker/-in

Our office is not responsible for initial training or for advanced qualifications regulated by the Vocational Training Act (Berufsbildungsgesetz) or the Crafts Code (Handwerksordnung). In Bavaria, these qualifications are evaluated by the chambers of industry and commerce (Industrie- und Handelskammern) and chambers of crafts (Handwerkskammern).
